Coverage · Lancashire

Industrial engineering across Lancashire.

Mechanical, electrical, controls and machinery engineering for the manufacturing, food, aerospace and logistics base across Preston, Blackburn, Blackpool and the wider county.

The Lancashire industrial base

Who we work with here.

Lancashire has one of the strongest manufacturing bases in the North West, anchored by aerospace (BAE Systems and the wider Samlesbury/Warton cluster), food and drink (from bakery giants around Preston to specialist F&B across the Ribble Valley), automotive component manufacture (a large tier-two and tier-three supply chain across Blackburn, Burnley and Nelson) and the logistics belt that runs the length of the M6 up through Charnock Richard, Preston and Lancaster. Lutrom serves the county from our Northwich workshop, with typical on-site response of 45–90 minutes depending on where in Lancashire you are — Preston and Chorley are close; the East Lancashire mill towns and the north (Lancaster, Morecambe) are further. We work with clients on the full range of engineering disciplines. For sites further from our Northwich base, planned PPM visits can be grouped where this suits the customer and the asset criticality.

Response promise

Honest arrival times, always.

Chorley, Leyland and Preston are the parts of Lancashire closest to us; Blackburn, Accrington, Burnley, Nelson, Blackpool, Lancaster and Morecambe are all covered but further from our Northwich base. For sites at the far end of the county we typically recommend a rolling PPM contract — planned visits are far more cost-effective than callouts across distance.

Lancashire FAQ

Common questions about local work.

How does response time work across Lancashire — it's a big county?

We're honest that Lancashire is our longest-drive area. Chorley, Leyland and Preston are the closest parts to our Northwich base. Blackburn, Accrington, Burnley, Nelson, Lancaster and Blackpool are further — we cover them, but for sites north of Preston we usually recommend a rolling PPM contract because planned visits give you far better value than paying for us to drive across the county at emergency rates.

Do you work in the Lancashire aerospace supply chain?

Yes — we work with tier-two and tier-three suppliers around the Samlesbury and Warton clusters. The typical work is control-system upgrades on machining cells, PLC support, PPM programmes and EICRs. Where prime contractors require specific approvals or inductions, we align to those on account setup.

Do you cover the East Lancashire mill towns as well as Preston/Blackpool?

Yes — Blackburn, Accrington, Burnley, Nelson and Colne are all in scope. Response times reflect distance; for regular work we group visits into planned days across multiple East Lancs sites to keep costs sensible.

Can you handle food and pharma production sites in Lancashire?

Yes — F&B and pharma are two of our strongest sectors. We work to the compliance and hygiene expectations of BRC/GMP-audited sites: IP-rated washdown installations, out-of-hours cutovers, formal permit-to-work regimes, full documentation packs and audit-ready traceability.
